St. Patrick's Day Parade

I know it was a while ago, but I've gotten WAY behind in blogging and didn't want to pass up posting about the awesome St. Patrick's Day parade we went to near Balboa Park.
There was a biker dude with a million tattoos wearing a kilt and doc martins in the street directing pedestrian traffic;
a group of adorable rescued westies (the type of dog I grew up with);
literally hundreds, if not thousands of shriners (many clearly pushing 100 yrs. old) driving classic automobiles, riding around in clown cars, and dressed up like an "oriental band" among other things;
lots of irish dance groups, etc. It was a blast and really hilarious. The best part, however, was the old couple next to us who brought a large dog to watch the parade wearing a little girl's sweater and a gold necklace and even set a carpet square down on the sidewalk for the dog to sit on. Needless to say, people here really, REALLY love their dogs.

What a fun St. Patrick's Day! Definitely my best one yet.
