6 Month Check-Up

Lila made it!!!  Happy 6 months to her (two days ago).  Yes, we sang the "Happy 6-months to you" song multiple times that day.  Anyways, I just wanted to quickly post her stats:

Height: 26 1/4 in. (75th)
Head Circumference: 17 1/4 in. (75th)
Weight: 14 lbs. 9 oz. (25th)

When the doctor was going over her measurements with us we realized either something was wrong with the measurements at her four-month check-up or she's been shrinking (not only in weight, but also height).  The doctor decided that the nurse definitely measured wrong last time and he even re-did her measurements this time and came up with different numbers than she did (she needs to be more careful!).  Anyways, her height and head circumference match up with her two-month check-up (even if the four-month was crazy) and we're not sure about her weight.  He didn't seem very concerned that it's a lot lower than the other two measurements, so I guess we shouldn't be either.  He said she's probably just going to be tall and thin like her daddy and also that as babies become more active, all their calories go first to height and brain growth (head circumference) and then the leftovers go toward weight gain.  She doesn't look really skinny or anything, but I'm still hoping she'll pack on a few pounds now that we've started solids for real.  I'll be posting about that sometime in the near future by the way.

I'm having a hard time getting Ethan to like eating solids, but it's a slow, steady process and I guess he'll get it eventually. And about the weight--Jamie was in the 20th or lower percentile throughout her first year. When she reached a low of the 10th percentile, I was pretty panicked. But I panicked in vain as now she's in the 45th percentile. Ethan was in the 75th and now he's in the 55th. We do all the same things we did with Jamie. It's funny how all kids are just so different.

yay! she's so cute! I'm so excited for Caitlin to get on real food to see how she takes it. :) You should look into My Gym. It's super cute and fun to do. I wish I was going to be home so I could take her weekly but we're going to have our sitter take her so she can socialize with other babies. :)
