Hi! I'm Ashley, a stay at home mother to five who is convinced that moms need each other's support.
I started the Mom Salute as a place where I could share my thoughts on motherhood and attempt to uplift and support other mothers as we try our best to raise our children well. The idea for the name of the blog came from an experience I had when a stranger and fellow mother literally saluted me in the midst of a stressful and potentially embarrassing moment with my children in public. I'd love to start a movement inspired by this wonderful stranger; moms saluting other mothers in our strong and weak moments, letting each other know that we understand, we've most likely been there, and we have so much respect for each other's best efforts. Sometimes that's all it takes to give someone the courage and strength to keep going.
We publish a "salute" to one mom each week, so if there's a mother in your life who deserves a public shoutout, let me know! It could be your own mother, sister, sister-in-law, friend, neighbor, or even a stranger you witnessed rocking motherhood on the playground or in the aisles of Target.
If you ever feel stressed out or worn down, please know that Mama, I salute you. And so do so many fellow travelers on this beautiful road called Motherhood.
