I'm a blogging novice!

So apparently our "stolen" wireless internet (we just borrow it from our neighbors), can't handle uploading pictures from iPhoto to the internet.  Does anyone know how I can shrink them down or change the quality or something so our weak signal can handle the load?  I've been trying to post some pics more recent than our engagement and it's just not working.  Thanks for your help!
