Easter Fun!

Lila and I drove up Saturday afternoon to spend a long weekend at my parents' house for Easter. Byron had to work Saturday, so he drove up REALLY late that night to meet us up there and arrived around 1:30 a.m. The weekend started on a yucky note with this disgusting find in my parents' living room. Gross!!! Neither my mom or I had ever seen anything like it. This bug seriously looked like it came from the rain forest. My mom was brave enough to pick it up on the end of a fly swatter and carry it outside, but when it dropped in the middle of the room, she started screaming, triggering Lila's crying and my screaming. Luckily we eventually got it out of the house.
Actually, the weekend started out fabulously because Lila greeted my mom by reaching her arms out to her for her to hold her. Seriously a miracle! Lila has major stranger fear and never wants anyone holding her but me and Byron. It usually takes her a day or two to warm up to my parents, prompting my dad to refer to his relationship with her as "50 First Dates" (only makes sense if you've seen the movie). Apparently she remembered them from the weekend before in Utah because she took to them immediately and they had her laughing and smiling all weekend! It was so much better than worrying if she was going to get scared every time they picked her up.

Church was really great on Easter and celebrating the resurrection was even more powerful because of a recent tragedy in my parents' ward. We of course had to take the obligatory Easter pictures in the front yard. Lila is becoming a daddy's girl...she gets excited every time she sees Byron. (I made the bow...isn't it cute?)
I made Lila an Easter basket filled with a new Baby Einstein DVD, a Baby Bible, baby mum mums (a rice cracker thing), and an empty easter egg. Sorry Lila, no candy in there! She was happy just to chew on the egg.
Lila loves Easter...look how excited she is!

I feel so lucky to live close to all of my grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa Hackett, Grandma Carter, and Aunt Deanna and her family (Uncle Ralph, Kendra, and Jordan), all came over for Easter dinner. I never want to move far away again! It's always so great to be with family. Here's a four generation shot:
Grandpa Hackett
Grandma Carter (Lila has her tongue hanging out like this about 75% of the time lately)

I'm lovin' all your new posts!! Lily is soooo super ADORABLE! everytime I see her I just want another little baby. I just wanna squish her! I had to go buy that shrug at children's place for Ella after I saw it on Lily, the bows on the sleeve were to die for.

I can't help but think of girls camp when I see that picture of that bug! Haha! Lila is adorable! Next time you are in town, may I take her picture? I want to start practicing photography on babies other than my little guy. I think she looks so much like you Ashley!
