Sometimes I forget I'm getting old. A couple of weeks ago I visited my sweet friend Shona who was due to have her first baby in a few days. We talked about the possibility of going to our high school reunion and texted about it while Byron and I were on our way home. When we decided that we might not go to the official reunion and instead just have a family picnic type gathering just for our group of friends, I texted "At least there's the 10 year!" Shona responded back with "Ashley, this IS the 10 year!" I don't know how I thought I managed to graduate college, go on an 18 month mission, get married, and have 2 children in a matter of 5 years or why I thought our high school was planning a five year reunion anyway. All I know is that I'm a lot older than I realized. I don't mind one bit.
As a side note, my friend Shona is simply amazing. I am absolutely HORRIBLE at keeping in contact with people. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't know anything about any of my high school friends. She's managed to keep me in contact with some dear friends and planned reunions for us every now and then. Thank you Shona!!! I need to be more like you.
Last week I went to see Shona's baby boy Milo. What a cutie! My friends Eileen and Shannon were there too. Shannon brought her adorable daughter, soon-to-be 3 year old Jaiden (spelling?). She was also due with her second any day and has probably had her by now. It was fun to see a new generation forming before our eyes.
Milo took turns leaning on Lila and then Jaiden. Shona was brave to stand back and let those two take charge of holding up her newborn baby!
