When we moved here I found out that pretty much everyone has annual passes to the San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park but we held off buying them until Lila was a little older and could handle a few hours at the zoo on a regular basis. I actually feel like it's just been in the last two months or so that I've reemerged as a full-blown (almost) member of society again. I guess it just took a while to adjust to having a baby, nursing on the go, getting Lila on a nap schedule, etc. I'm of course still a slave to her nap times, but things have definitely improved A LOT.
Well we went to the Wild Animal Park a few weeks ago and bought our passes. I'd been there a long time ago with my family but it was Byron (and Lila's) first time. We had a lot of fun, especially on the safari and it was great not to feel pressured to stay all day since we have passes and can stop by any time for a few hours. We also went to the zoo a few days later and I was sooo excited that she actually noticed some of the animals! She even seemed to get excited about watching some of them and started waving her arms around like she was trying to grab them. She probably wanted to put them in her mouth like everything else, she just didn't realize they were at least 50 ft. away and a little out of reach.

Here's Lila on the safari tram. There was another cute baby sitting in front of us and they kept staring at each other (and taking turns whining and grunting of course).

It was a beautiful day, not too cold, not too hot, and our guide told us we came at the perfect time (mid-afternoon) because the animals get more active then.

Look at the lion on that truck! I seriously thought he was fake at first.

Lila prefers the moby wrap to her stroller any day. She even goes on walks in it every morning.

Lila looks so cute. It does take a bit getting use to the new life with little ones. Each one does, but once adjusted can't imagine life with out them. The Zoo looks fun. The elephants always amaze me. Have a great week. Love, Shelly
OH it sound like you guys had a blast. We took the boys to the zoo in December and they loved it, we really want to go to the Wild Animal PArk, maybe once we have a date I wll let you know and we can meet up, it would be great to see you!!
Kevin and I want to take Nathan to the Wild Animal park. (I haven't been either.) We bought passes for the LA Zoo and I think we might get a discount for the Wild Animal Park. If we plan a trip this summer I'll have to let you know...it would be fun to meet up.
Oh, and I totally know what you mean about feeling like a normal person again. It takes awhile to adjust to everything :)
Oh, how CUTE! Your little girl makes me want a girl! :) She'd adorable.
