Lila

The Children's Museum in downtown.

I can't believe how old Lila is getting. I know every mother says this, but seriously... where does the time go??? She's at the stage now where pretty soon she really won't be a baby at all anymore and I kind of wish I could just freeze her in time so she wouldn't grow up. Although I have to admit it'll be kind of nice when she outgrows the stage of throwing multiple crying fits every day! Although she can be tough at times, she is just so stinkin' cute! I love how she learns multiple new words every day, surprises me with how much she knows and remembers, and how she loves to be a little comedian and make us laugh. It amazes me how she's to the point where she can say just about anything she wants. Sometimes the girl never stops talking.

We went to the zoo the other day and she walked around talking for about an hour and half without taking a break and I am not exaggerating. She pointed out every animal, said what it was called, pointed to which ones were mamas, which ones were babies, commented on which ones were eating food, which ones were sleeping, etc., etc. When did she get so old? It's adorable how much she loves anything that has to do with music. She constantly sings and dances. She started dancing to the opening hymn at church today.

SeaWorld is one of her favorite places and she often walks around the house chanting "Shamu, shamu" while doing the "sham slam" (you'd have to see the show to understand, but trust me, it's cute). We bought her a toy shamu that she adores and she parades him around the house saying "shamu jump HIGH!"

Whenever I get off the phone, she always says the name of whoever she thinks I was talking to: Dada. Gamma. Mak (Mark, our realtor). It amazes me that she can tell who I'm talking to just by the context of the conversation and that she's actually listening to what I'm saying on the phone. She's probably right about 95% of the time.

Two of the funniest things she does right now are fake laugh and fake sneeze on command. If you're around her, ask her to do either one and I promise it'll make you giggle. It's hilarious! She also says "tootie" in a really funny voice anytime she hears someone pass gas. I'm never the one passing the gas of course.

Some of Lila's favorites are:

Songs: We are the Dinsoaurs (aka "Marching song"... this is one from storytime), Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, If You're Happy and You Know It, The Wheels on the Bus (Lila calls it "Wa, wa, wa" after her favorite verse in the song. She rubs her eyes when she asks for it.), Popcorn Popping.

Activities: Dancing, blowing bubbles, play kitchen, play house, ring around the rosies, library story/singing time, swings, going on walks and hiding behind the bushes, reading her animal book and naming all the animals.

Food: Nothing. She hates eating right now. Ok, I'll admit it, she loves "canny." Don't call me a bad mother!

She's just to that cute age when every parent thinks their child is a genius because they're learning so much so quickly. I love her sooooooooooooo much!

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe she's so old! I still think of her as this little baby but she definitely isn't anymore! I would love to just listen to her ramble on all day at the zoo, that would be too, too precious!

Lila sure is a cutie! She's at a great age...I was just wishing I could make Nathan go back to that age :) But I guess every age has it's good and bad.
